Dotted Support
Dotted is a calm private habit notebook for iPhone. This page covers the questions we hear most. If something here doesn't answer your question, write to us — we read every message.
Get in touch
The fastest way to reach us is email:
When you write, it helps if you include:
- Your iPhone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About).
- The Dotted version (Settings tab inside the app, at the bottom).
- A description of what happened and what you expected.
Subscriptions and billing
How do I manage or cancel Dotted Pro?
Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Dotted. From there you can change your plan, cancel renewal, or restore.
I bought Pro on another device — how do I unlock it here?
Open Dotted, go to the Settings tab, and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you used to buy Pro.
I need a refund.
All purchases are processed by Apple. Request a refund through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't process refunds directly.
Does the lifetime purchase ever expire?
No. Dotted Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase that unlocks Pro for as long as Dotted is on the App Store, on any device signed in to your Apple ID.
iCloud sync
How does sync between my iPhone and iPad work?
Both devices need to be signed in to the same Apple ID and have iCloud Drive enabled. Once that's set, your habits, notes, and moods sync between them through your personal iCloud account. The first sync may take a moment.
Is my data sent to Teddy App Labs servers?
No. Dotted has no servers that store your habits. Sync goes only through your personal Apple iCloud account.
Shared Rituals
What is a shared ritual?
A small ritual you keep together with one person you trust — like a daily walk, a stretch, or checking in. Both of you tap a dot for the day, and the ritual stays in sync between you.
Who can see my shared ritual?
Only you and the people you invited. Shared rituals are stored in Apple's CloudKit Shared Database between participants. We cannot see the contents.
How do I leave or stop a shared ritual?
Open the ritual's detail screen and tap "Leave Ritual" (for participants) or "Stop Ritual" (for the owner). You can do this at any time.
Notifications and reminders
Reminders aren't showing up.
Open iOS Settings → Notifications → Dotted, and make sure Allow Notifications is on. Inside Dotted, check that the habit has a reminder set and that quiet hours aren't suppressing it at the time you expect.
What are quiet hours?
A nightly window where Dotted suppresses reminders. You can adjust the window in the Settings tab.
Widgets
Dotted ships a Home Screen widget. Long-press your Home Screen, tap the "+" in the top corner, and search for Dotted. Pick a size and place it. The Lock Screen widget pack and additional sizes are available with Dotted Pro.
Data export
You can export your habit log as CSV from the Settings tab. The export includes habit names, dot history, and dates.
